Connecting The Power Of OT with Occupational Therapists

We’re The Kadia Lab

We’re on a mission to equip and empower  OT’s in Australia to be their very best professional and personal selves.

Who Are The Kadia Lab?

The Kadia Lab is an Occupational Therapy Education Space designed for OT’s by OT’s.

In the Kadia Lab, you can find the support you need to build the foundational stones of your career, or take it to that next level.

Founded by Janelle Arnold and Joanna Thomas, along with the powerful team at Kadia Occupational Therapy Group, The Kadia Lab brings together OT’s with experience from Across Australia, and from multiple settings.

What do we do?

We unpack the steps OT’s need to take in order to build clinical competency and confidence in community clinical practice.

We know that just ‘going to a job’ does not build a career. That’s why we arm our community with the resources, knowledge support and strategies they need to build a robust, competent and impactful career that they are proud of!

We deliver this through high calibre online course, hands on coaching, mentoring,  supervision, live intensives, and business growth coaching.

We also strive to ‘love on’, support and equip OT’s in Australia through free resourcing and content on all of our channels. Here at The Kadia Lab, we are here to take the guess work, uncertainty and clinical ‘faking it till you are making it” out of career development and competency consolidation, so hard-working, self-investing OT’s fast track their career and can live and work their best lives.

Why do we do it?

We are on a mission to empower 10,000 OT’s in Australia to be the OT the are Created to be, and deliver interventions they can be proud of.

Why? We do it because we believe that every therapist has the potential to change the reality of life with a disability or health challenge in a significant and never before seen way.

Our Founders, Janelle Arnold and Joanna Thomas, understand the very real challenges that are faced by OT’s in Public and Private health care spaces every single day.

That’s why we’re taking the challenge and overwhelm out of developing clinical competence… the loneliness of navigating NDIS… the fear of working out on a limb…and the overwhelm out of career progression… so you can build a career of confidant, values drive, and impactful career you can be proud of.

Report requring more support in transitioning from uni to the workplace

  • Feel unsupported 95% 95%
  • OT feels / seems different in practice than uni 97% 97%
  • Want tobe in control of their own clinical growth 97% 97%

The results of a recent survey which reviewed the learning needs of exiting students, new graduates and early career (up to 5 years out) showed that 95% of participants reported that they were:

– uncertain or needing more confidence with clinical skills

– unsure how to advance with critical strategy development.

And in addition,

92.73% of participants reported that they wanted more clinically specific training to help consolidate skills and bridge learning gaps unmet by their employer.

The thing is… we have been there before. We know what it is like to leave work and be unable to switch off… To be sitting in an assessment and feeling like “what next” is a fuzzy cloud.

And even had days where we feel physically sick over something missed, or left incomplete from overwhelm.

But, we also know it does not have to be like this.

As therapists who have worked across a wide range of clinical settings, as clincial OT’s,  team leaders and practice owners, we know the tips, tricks, hints and the key ‘things to know’ to have a powerful impact as a clinican.

And we want to share these with you, so that just like our own clinical staff, you too will be able to thrive no matter what clinical space you work in.
